Day 1-2: Arrival in Australia
When you land at Melbourne Airport, you will be met and driven to the renowned Crown Towers. Enjoy the amenities of your hotel at your leisure and get in the mood for the upcoming journey.
Day 3: Melbourne
Soak up Melbourne’s vibrant atmosphere on a city tour. Between Victorian architecture and state-of-the-art glass high-rise facades, major sports venues and charming art galleries lure as well as idyllic parks and daily concerts that fill the city with music. A special experience awaits you high up on the Eureka Skydeck 88. The mighty tower rises almost 300 meters into the air and offers a unique view over Melbourne, the Australian landscape and the turquoise blue ocean that encloses the country.
Day 4: Great Ocean Road
After yesterday’s urban exploration, leave Melbourne behind for a drive down the Great Ocean Road. Lonely beaches and rugged cliffs alternate, boulders, ferns and white sand create new panoramas behind every curve. A highlight of your excursion are the “Twelve Apostles”, huge limestone cliffs that rise up to 60 m from the sea. Take in the breathtaking sight of the waves crashing against the rocks before ending your excursion with the stunning Loch Ard Gorge and its imposing rock formations as a backdrop.
Day 5: Phillip Island
Not far from Melbourne is Phillip Island, connected to the mainland only by a concrete bridge. The island is almost completely classified as a nature reserve and thus offers space for a unique flora and fauna that can thrive here undisturbed. Go in search of koalas, sloths and exotic birds in the forests and bush landscapes before you see a special sight in the evening: in a long line the little penguins return from fishing to their nests, a migration that rightly deserves the name “Penguin Parade”.
Day 6: To Uluru
Today your journey takes you out of the south and into the heart of Australia, to the famous Ayers Rock. The mighty red rock massif in the center of Australia, which officially bears the name of Uluru, is a symbol of the country that should not be missing on any trip to Australia. Your luxury tented camp, Longitude 131°, offers awe-inspiring views of the sacred mountain of the Aboriginal people, whose atmosphere makes the myths of the Dreamtime seem real.
Day 7-8: Uluru - Kata Tjuta-Nationalpark
Starting from your luxury camp, you will have the opportunity to explore the Australian outback around sacred Uluru over the next few days. Let yourself be enchanted by the play of colors of the first rays of sun on Uluru in the early morning. Caves and chasms characterize the rock massif, in which time-honored paintings tell the stories of the Dreamtime, and the fascinating flora and fauna of Central Australia invites to walks and hikes. Further west, the 36 domed rock monoliths of Kata Tjuta rise up to 546m from the earth and, in the glow of the setting sun, create a unique panorama that is a fitting conclusion to your time in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park.
Day 9: Cairns
Spend a relaxing morning in the exclusive atmosphere of your luxury camp before heading to the nearby airport for your flight to the port city of Cairns. The “Gateway to the Great Barrier Reef” seduces with fine sandy beaches, wonderful coral reefs and tropical vegetation. A transfer will take you to the Riley Hotel north of the stylish Esplanade waterfront.
Day 10-13: Lizard Island
A short flight takes you to the private island of Lizard Island, a luxurious resort in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef. With palm-fringed dream beaches, a top-class spa and an exquisite gourmet restaurant, this island paradise offers everything your heart desires to enjoy a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle. Use the time and go on diving and snorkeling trips to the colorful corals of the fantastic Great Barrier Reef, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981 and invites you to dream with its variety of exotic sea creatures.
Day 14: Back to Cairns
Enjoy the tranquility of the Lizard Islands with a last breakfast on the dream island before boarding your return flight to Cairns. As the Great Barrier Reef glides beneath you, you can dream back to your resort before landing and returning to the exclusive Hotel Riley in Cairns.
Day 15: Blue Mountains
Leave the tropical north heading west. On this day, not far from the cosmopolitan city of Sydney, you will discover one of Australia’s scenic highlights. Deep gorges and rugged sandstone mountain ranges characterize the Blue Mountains. The mountains owe their name to the dense eucalyptus forests that fill the region with their fragrance and provide a habitat for numerous endemic animal species such as koalas. You will spend the coming nights at Emirates One & Only in the middle of the mountains and have a fantastic view as the sun disappears behind the mountain ridges.
Day 16: Blue Mountains
The landscape of the Blue Mountains holds numerous treasures in store for you to explore at your leisure today. Hike through eucalyptus forests in search of koalas and sloths, climb to the top of Echo Point’s observation deck for a glimpse of the Three Sisters rock formation, and soak up the eucalyptus-scented air. Your hotel also has many amenities and invites you to relax.
Day 17: Sydney
Watch the sun rise over the Blue Mountains before traveling to the cosmopolitan city of Sydney. The largest city in Australia presents itself with vibrant multiculturalism and modern diversity. The glass facades of futuristic buildings rise to enormous heights, shopping promenades lure you in with the latest trends in the world and parks such as the Royal Botanical Garden invite you to take relaxing walks. Tonight offers a very special experience: After high-quality gourmet courses in two restaurants on the harbor promenade, you board a luxury ship to admire the city from the water on an exclusive harbor cruise. Marvel at the fascinating perspective and how the light of the setting sun is reflected in the facades of the high-rise buildings. Spend the night at the stylish Langham Hotel in the heart of the city.
Day 18: Sydneys Highlights
Discover Sydney’s most important landmarks up close on a private city tour. Begin your tour with breathtaking panoramic views of the Sydney skyline from Mrs Macquaries Point, before getting a glimpse of the city’s vibrant nightlife at colorful Kings Cross with its numerous bars and restaurants. Your tour takes you to the rugged cliffs at South Head to idyllic Bondi Beach, which also makes Sydney a paradise for bathers. The crowning glory of your explorations is the oldest district in Sydney, “The Rocks”, not far from the harbour, which, with the Harbor Bridge and the Opera House, has what is probably the city’s most famous sight in store for you.
Day 19: Cottage Point Inn
Getting to today’s destination is a highlight in itself: a flight in a private seaplane takes you over stunning scenery to Ku Ring Gai Chase National Park, where the award-winning Cottage Point Inn awaits your visit. Enjoy an exclusive 3-course meal against the beautiful backdrop of the National Park before flying back to Sydney. Spend the remaining time as you wish. In modern Darling Harbour, enjoy a coffee in one of the stylish cafés, watch the sunset from the Harbor Bridge or kick off the evening in one of Kings Cross’ many bars.
Day 20-21: Departure from Australia
Today your luxurious journey comes to an end. Say goodbye to Australia and board your return flight.
